Cambria!

We had our first family vacation last week!!  It was really fun.  The boys did great during the day, but got a little cranky at bedtime.  However, they fully slept through the nights, so they really did well!  I'm kind of impressed by them.

It's also been so wonderful going through this experience with Jeff.  We make such a good team and I'm so thankful to have him as the father of my kids!  He is so good with them (and me too) and LOVES them so much.  He's a stud!

Anyways, back to the vacation.  We went to Cambria and stayed in an awesome hotel room that had a kitchen sink, fridge, and microwave.  Since we spent more hours in the room that our pre-kid days, it was nice to have all that available.  Plus, we had Netflix and watched movies on our laptop.  =)

All our bags are packed, we're ready to go...

Ethan and Sam did great on the way over here.  Once it was time to eat, I climbed between them in the backseat and fed them a bottle.  They did wonderfully!  And by the time they were finished, we were there.  They napped as we unpacked, and then we packed them up and hiked down to the town.  And when I say down, I mean down.  It was fun to be out and about, but the problem was that we had to go back up.  So, let's just say this little body of mine got quite a workout the first day.

This is what we had to hike up... And Jeff had to hike it with Sam and Chinese food in hand!

The next day we walked on the wooden walkway thingy by the beach.  It was cold.  And windy.  But, fun nonetheless.

First family beach pic!  Look at the cute little Apple Heads. hehehehe....

Well hey there, Sam!

Then we took a drive up the 1.  The boys didn't last long, so we went back and had them nap.  That night, we had reservations at the hotel restaurant, which came with our hotel package.  It was the first time we had taken the boys to a real restaurant (not Panda or Subway or something).  We were really curious to see how they'd do.  We tried to have them sit in their stroller, to which Ethan protested.  So, he ended up on my lap.  Sam got jealous and ended up on Jeff's lap.  That lasted about 10 minutes... enough time for me to eat most of my meal.  Because of more whines, and so as to not disturb the other hotel guests, we packed them back in the stroller and I took them for a spin around the hotel gardens (which are beautiful!), while Jeff paid and packed up the rest of my food.

See the To Go boxes ready in case we have to leave in a flash?!?

Though we didn't get to stay for an entire meal, I thought they did pretty good.

The next day we decided to let them have a few more naps in the hotel room and only go out once during the afternoon, and then later in the evening when they don't nap anyway.  So, we took them to the WR Hearst State Beach.  It was nicer there, not as windy.  We also dressed them in their cute little bear outfits which kept them very warm and very cute!  They took a great nap on us as we sat and enjoyed the waves and sunshine.

That night we got a pizza and took it to Cambria beach.  Our plan was to sit and watch the sunset while the boys were in their packs on us.  It would've worked nicely if the wind was so icy and ripping through every layer of clothing!  We did eat out there, and the boys were fine because they were on us and all bundled up.  However, Jeff and I were freezing!  So we gobbled our pizza and hurried back to our hotel room.  We're coming back to Cambria in a few weeks with my family and we'll be in a house across the street from the beach.  That will be SO nice because we'll be able to see the ocean from the warm comfort of the house.  =)

The drive home was great again!  Samuel and Ethan are such great little travelers.  It was a fun trip!

Who took your family beach pics?

Thanks Tina! Just some random person on the beach took them. Or Jeff held the camera up on his own. :)
