It's party time!

January has been a crazy month for us.  It started off with a call to the pediatrician on-call on New Years' Eve, and a quick trip down the hill to pick up medications (and surprise my mother-in-law on her birthday!).  Needless to say, someone has either been sick, or contagious since then.  We are currently battling Round 2 ... this one has fevers, a cough, and nose that runs like a faucet.  Sound familiar?!?  Half of the country is probably dealing with the same thing.

Any-who....

Since illness has been the theme this month, we had to postpone the boys' original birthday party date because they had RSV.  So technically, they had 3 birthdays this month: 1) their actual birthDAY, 2) their canceled party, in which our family still came up, and 3) their party.  I'm sure they feel (even more) that the world revolves around them.  They love singing Happy Birthday, ask frequently for presents, and when they get presents, Ethan always says it's going to be a "liner and giraffe" (aka lion and giraffe).  They are just so cute!

On their actual birthday, we gave them a few presents right before bedtime (Buzz guns and Veggie Tales books).  The rest of the day they sat  dazed on the couch.  Poor buddies!

Three days after the day of their birth, we were planning on having their birthday party.  Instead, our families still came up and braved kisses from sick boys.

Jeff and I got them their first real guitars!  They LOVE them.

Then last Saturday, we finally had their birthday party.  They loved Buzz (amongst other things) right now, so I got tons of cute Buzz ideas from Pintrest.  We had it in the nursery that is directly under our apartment since our house is too small for a party.  It worked out great!  We rearranged things and decorated the night before, then just carried the food down in the morning.  Fantastic.  Plus it had all the toys that the kids are used to playing with when they come to Huckleberry.  We did have a few games, but not enough to entertain that many kids.  So the toys were very handy.

We added the pizza by the sign after I took this pic.  Those sandwiches are PB&J cut out with a star cookie cutter.

I filled this box with toys from the Dollar Store and the kids got to reach in and get 2 prizes before they left.  Big hit.

This was the other game.  Kids got to either design their own paper airplane or use the Dollar Tree rockets and fly them through the hoola-hoops that were suspended from the ceiling.

My mom bought them these Buzz wings.  Everyone loved wearing them!

This is us attempting a group shot with all the kids.  It was my two that were the most uncooperative.  They kept running off!
The end result worked pretty well.  This was almost everyone (minus the parents).

Jeff wanted a pic with his boys, but S wouldn't cooperate.  I think they were partied out at this point.

We settled for a good one with E.
