As close as we live to magnificent places, we rarely play the tourist and go see these awesome sites. That's one thing Jeff and I have been wanting to do more… explore our own backyard! A couple Saturdays ago, we did just that. We packed up all the boys and a lunch, and headed out. The views driving into Kings Canyon are gorgeous! We've seen it many times from the Hume road, but haven't actually been IN the canyon in a few years. We wanted to go to Roads' End because we've never been there. And with the great little travelers we have, we thought we'd go explore! We found Roads' End, and then found a nice little spot by Kings River and ate lunch. It was an overcast, rainy day which made it feel that much more adventurous! After we ate, we took a short walk to Zumwalt Meadow. We weren't sure how E & S would do, seeing as how hiking with our three-year-olds isn't always pleasant. But they did great! We stopped by the river for a small photo shoot and then kept exploring. It was such a fun day and Jeff and I can't wait until we can do more exploring around this area!

| Oh the sweet innocence of being a kid. |

| Buddies for life. |
| You can see Z's face here! |
| They were attempting to help Z look at the camera. |
| The clan |
| "Son, that stick looks deadly in your hands…." |
| A family of boys….. I'm learning to embrace my inner warrior. |
| How'd I do?!? Did I fully embrace it? |
| And sticks down for one more pic. |
| How cute are they?!?! |
| No, seriously…. |
| They are …. |
| …. cute! |
| Walking back to the car in the drizzling rain. Jeff ran ahead to get some photos. |
